SOWETO - The recovery process to restore all railway lines in Gauteng is at 50 percent.
The Passenger Rail Agency gave an update to the provincial roads and transport portfolio committee where it had to account for the work that's been done following the Covid-19 shutdown of the Metrorail train.
Soweto residents are breathing a sigh of relief now that the train route from Johannesburg to Naledi has been reopened.
It's not the only one though. Prasa is restoring several railway lines that have been vandalised or needed some upgrades.
The railway agency says its working with communities and holding engagements to ventilate issues and find solutions.
