JOHANNESBURG - The Crowthorne Christian Academy has been shut down.
The Midrand school was embroiled in an alleged racist incident over a child's dreadlocks.
The Gauteng Education Department tried to help the school properly register and institute transformation programmes.
But, officials were barred from entering the school.

Pupils will now be moved to new schools.
The department's spokesperson, Steve Mabona, said they've officially closed down the school.
"We realised that the school decided to relocate from Sunninghill and registered in a different name," he said.
"That's why we announced that they're operating illegally."
