JOHANNESBURG - Black students and workers feel unwelcome and cannot identify with Stellenbosch University.
That's according to the South African Union of Students.
The student body was reacting to retired Justice Sisi Khampepe's report into racism allegations at the university.
The commission found that whilst the university has made strides towards transformation, black students and staff members still feel unwelcome and excluded.
It says this is due to a variety of factors.
"Black students and workers feel unwelcome and they cannot identify with Stellenbosch university. One of the critical components of identity such that people are able to identify with their spaces is language," said spokesperson Asive Dlanjwa.
