JOHANNESBURG - The latest reprieve from rolling blackouts has nothing to do with Monday's protest action spearhead by the EFF.
That is according to Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, who was visiting Kendal power station.
He says there was lower demand due to the public holiday.
There has also been improved generation capacity with marked improvements at six power stations.
Ramokgopa says this is evidence that the President's Energy Plan is bearing fruit.

"A combination of that has meant that we've got some degree of reprieve and that's why we didn't have loadshedding," the minister said.
"But the issue is that the units are unreliable."
Ramokgopa said the results are coming to bear fruit and they are beginning to add additional momentum.
