JOHANNESBURG - The Inkata Freedom Party (IFP) in KwaZulu-Natal says government has failed the nation.
It says small businesses and emerging farmers are being obliterated by continuous power outages.

"When load-shedding happens, it impacts job opportunities and the families supported by those workers," says the IFP's Thami Ntuli.
"When they collapse, it means everyone that depends on it suffers," he adds.

The party is now calling on the KwaZulu-Natal government to provide relief to affected businesses.
The party also plans to petition Nersa to reverse a recently approved electricity tariff hike.
