JOHANNESBURG - Stats SA is set to release the latest consumer price index figures on Wednesday.

There has been a downward trend in headline inflation to 6-point-9-percent in January closer to the Reserve Bank target of between 3 and 6%.
However, food inflation continued to accelerate to 13.4% adding more pressure on cash-strapped consumers.
