PRETORIA - The South African National Defence Force is considering the purchase of new aircraft to bolster its ageing fleet.

The Embraer C-390 millennium arrived from Brazil and was presented to army chiefs at the Waterkloof Air Base on Friday morning.

Authorities aren’t willing to divulge how much this will cost the taxpayer, but they've promised transparency.

Authorities say similar presentations will be made by other aircraft manufacturers before a final decision on what to purchase is made.
