JOHANNESBURG - The SACP wants US Ambassador to South Africa Reuben Brigety, to be given his marching orders; that's in response to his claims that South Africa armed Russia last year, in their war with Ukraine.
Brigety has since apologised for not following proper channels, and using the so-called megaphone diplomacy.
The SACP accused the USA of spying activities within South Africa.
The SACP's Alex Mashilo said, "we believe so, how would an ambassador who represents a foreign country in our country makes such claims?"
"[We] don't accept that as the SACP, we have not seen his apology in writing, we have not heard him tender his apology."
"Our department of International relations said that they have had an interaction with him and he regretted acting in the manner that he did in terms of seeking to hold South Africa accountable outside of the United Nations framework."
"His entire behavior is concerning. not just talking about an ordinary ambassador here."
