JOHANNESBURG - Church groups and civil society organisations are calling on government to change course on foreign policy.
A mass prayer meeting was held in Johannesburg on Monday under the banner of the South African Friends of Israel.
The meeting launched a declaration of support for improved relations between the two countries.

The group called on government to recognise the central importance of the South Africa-Israel relationship in the lives of South African Christians.
It demanded the protection of its members' constitutional rights to freedom of conscience, religion, thought, belief, and opinion.
