Rising crime blamed on blackouts

DURBAN - Rolling blackouts are creating a climate of fear in some KZN communities.

Mayville residents, west of Durban, say crime levels have risen in the area as a direct result of constant power cuts.

These safety concerns have also impacted small businesses, with people reluctant to venture out at night.
