    JOHANNESBURG - Protea North residents in Soweto have been living without electricity for months.

    Eskom says the outage is due to a faulty transformer.

    Because only 30 percent of households pay for electricity, the utility will not be fixing the issue.

    Soweto also owes Eskom over R2-billion, with over 60 percent not paying for electricity they consume.
