Eskom announces load shedding stages
JOHANNESBURG - Blackouts remain suspended until 6pm on Sunday.
Eskom says this is due to lower than anticipated demand and a further slight improvement in generation capacity.
Stage 1 blackouts will then be implemented from 6pm until 10pm.
Power cuts willl then be suspended from 10pm until 5am tomorrow.
Thereafter stage 2 will resume until further notice.
Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur.
In the meantime, Eskom has on Sunday morning announced it will be introducing prepaid smart meters in Limpopo.
During the installations, there will be temporary electricity supply interruptions.
Eskom Limpopo is warning customers to treat all electrical connections as live during this period.
