JOHANNESBURG - City Power says several Johannesburg substations have tripped, causing outages in several areas.
These include the Bree, Observatory, Ridge, Cleveland and Fort substations.
The utility says work is underway to restore power.
City Power is warning residents to use electricity sparingly as its systems remain constrained.
Meanwhile, load reduction is being implemented to prevent the grid from collapsing.
