Rare disease awareness | Over 7,000 diseases affecting up to 3m SA children

CAPE TOWN - Around 400 million people globally live with rare diseases, about 100 million of them in Africa.

There is often little research into these illnesses as there is little incentive for big  Pharma.

This is what activists hope to change on Rare Disease Day which was celebrated this week.
