JOHANNESBURG - Water restrictions in three Gauteng metros have been lifted immediately.
Rand Water says reservoir levels in the systems have increased to over 60 percent.
Recent rains have also helped to stabilise water systems in Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni metros.

The metros were forced to implement water restrictions due to high consumption.
The water utility also could not pump enough water to meet the demand due to blackouts.
Rand water says the municipalities effectively reduced consumption and are managing their own systems efficiently.
It's thanked residents for adhering to restrictions.
