JOHANNESBURG - A festive season in the dark is not on the cards.
This is according to Electricity Minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa.
He says electricity demand will be lower in December as large factories will be closed.
"December the energy intensity units like the big factories are going to close so what that means is that demand goes down.
"Then we use this opportunity for maintenance," he said.
"Load-shedding is not gone and that is the point I keep on making."
The minister visited Medupi power station in Limpopo.
He has emphasised the need to maximise units that are working.
