Questions raised over KZN nutrition school feeding scheme

JOHANNESBURG - Despite a commitment made by KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Mbali Fraser pupils in the province continue to go hungry.

The MEC admitted there had been problems with the delivery of food to schools.

The Mayor of the Zululand District Municipality, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, has written to the Office of the Public Protector requesting a full investigation into the process and players involved in the KZN School Nutrition Tender.

The National Teachers' Union has also questioned the awarding of the tender.
