Public Sector Strike | Union behaviour unacceptable, says former minister
JOHANNESBURG - Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, who was minister of Public Service and Administration from 1999 to 2008, says strike action should always be a last resort, and in this case, unions have failed the public.
Patients were severely inconvenienced at some hospitals, with workers leaving their posts, and taking to the streets.
Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa says he is concerned about the ongoing wage strike that is affecting essential services.
Ramaphosa says while workers have a right to strike, acts of violence will not be tolerated.
The strike action to demand a 10 percent wage increase has spread across the country.
