Prof Taole Mokoena named new Health Ombud

PRETORIA - Health Minister Joe  Phaahla has announced Professor Taole Mokoena is the new health ombud.

Mokoena succeeds South Africa's first Health Ombud, Malegapuru Makgoba.

Mokoena will hold office for the next seven years.

He begins his term on Thursday.

Mokoena says the office is a big challenge due to the limited resources in the sector and the growing population.
