President to account for his spending
CAPE TOWN - For the first time in democratic South Africa, the office of the president will be subjected to a Parliamentary oversight committee to account for its spending - among other things.
Last week Parliament agreed to set up the committee in a motion brought by the Democratic Alliance before they joined the Government of National Unity.
But what powers could this committee have, and would the powers be binding?
Legal expert, Nthabiseng Dubazana says not much will change.
