Power failures affect water supply in Tshwane

PRETORIA - Taps are running dry in parts of Soshanguve, Mabopane and Ga-Rankuwa on Saturday morning.

This is due to power failures and trips at the Vereeniging and Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plants.

The Palmiet, Eikenhof and Mapleton Booster Pumping stations have also been affected.

The interruptions are causing unstable supply and depletion of water to eight Rand Water reservoirs in Tshwane.

The city is urging residents to use water sparingly and to not water gardens, wash cars, and fill swimming pools.
