JOHANNESBURG - Mkhondo community members are calling for special interventions to stop political killings in the area.
The Gert Sibande Regional Deputy Chairperson Muzi Manyathi was shot dead in the last week of November.
His death follows that of another ANC member Norman Ngwenya who was also gunned down in the same week.
Community members say political killings are on the rise.
Analyst Ebrahim Harvey says this is not surprising at all.

"Well you know it’s a few days away from the electoral conference. But if you look at the entire year, and all the regional conferences have been fraught with violence," he said.
"Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal have been the killing grounds of the ANC. As the ANC, do you know if the ANC has conducted a thorough investigation to get to the bottom of these killings?
"Mpumalanga has been in the news for a long time. Has been a history of it. I don't know of any investigation the police has conducted to get to the bottom, especially since its killings within the ANC itself."
