Tshwane needs more than a stabilisation team
PRETORIA - A police stabilisation team has been making some headway in Tshwane.
It was deployed to Pretoria North after a surge in crime in Soshanguve, Rietgat, Loate, Mabopane, and Akasia.
So far, 51 suspects have been arrested and 26 stolen or hijacked vehicles recovered.
Experts say this is a much-needed initiative, but it's only temporary. Focus should be on staffing and providing police stations with adequate resources to combat crime.
