Police probe shooting of multiple women in Phillipi

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police are investigating a shooting incident in Philippi that occurred on Tuesday.

Five women occupying a house in Lansport Road in Hanover Park were attacked by a shooter.

A male was seen exiting a grey VW Polo and entering the premises and several shots were fired inside the house.

A 75-year-old female was fatally wounded at the scene, meanwhile a 60-year-old female was declared dead on arrival due to a gunshot wound to the chest.

The other three injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
