Police link scores of Stilfontein corpse to crimes committed in SA

NORTH WEST - The identification process of scores of bodies retrieved from an abandoned shaft in Stilfontein, continues.

To date police say at least 60 fingerprints were taken leading to 11 positive identification. 

Of the 11, seven were from Mozambique, one from Zimbabwe and three from Lesotho. 

This is according to North West police spokesperson Adele Myburgh. 

Myburgh revealed that some of the identified bodies have been linked to previous crimes in the country.

Authorities continue urging others who believe their relatives were involved to come forward.
