Police intensify efforts to deal with illegal mining

JOHANNESBURG - The General Industries Workers Union of South Africa (Giwusa)says the government has must enforce compliance with regards to environmental plan.

This is to hold co-operations that are responsible for the abandonment of the mines as well shafts that are left unsealed to account. 

This was said by President of Giwusa, Mametlwe Sebei on Wednesday. 

Sebei was speaking following Minster of police  Senzo Mchunu declaring their mission to intensify their efforts in dealing with illegal mining. 

The minister was speaking at a media briefing ahead of the ANC Cabinet Lekgotla underway in Pretoria.
