Phala Phala | ATM wants Gcaleka's report findings set aside

JOHANNESBURG - The African Transformation Movement wants acting Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka's findings on the Phala Phala report to be set aside.

The party has approached the High Court in Pretoria to do so.

In its court application, the ATM has listed Gcaleka's office and President Cyril Ramaphosa as first and second respondents.

The Public Protector report released last month cleared Ramaphosa of wrongdoing regarding the robbery.

He was accused of covering up the theft of millions of dollars from his game farm.

Gcaleka found there was no substantiated evidence that he violated the Executive Ethics Code, or conflicted with his constitutional obligations due to his business dealings.

But the ATM says those findings need careful reconsideration by the court.
