JOHANNESBURG - The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse wants councillors and mayors to pay for unlawful appointments of municipal managers, and fruitless special meetings.

It says the Local Government Amendment Bill undermines accountability and protects irregular appointments.
The amendments would effectively allow a municipal manager appointed irregularly to remain in office for at least 90 days.
