JOHANNESBURG - The Ekurhuleni council is in limbo due to the continuous political squabbles in its chambers.
On Thursday night, speaker Raymond Dhlamini walked out amid a motion of no confidence against him.
He is now taking legal action against the council proceedings which saw him ousted from office.
EFF councillor Nthabiseng Tshivhenga has been elected as interim speaker.
However, Dhlamini is challenging this.
Meanwhile, opposition parties say Ekurhuleni Mayor Tania Campbell must go.
Campbell says she is not deterred that she may be ousted next.
The Acting Speaker is expected to announce when the next council sitting will take place.
