JOHANNESBURG - OR Tambo international airport in Johannesburg was forced to close one of its runways.
A fire is believed to have spilled over from an adjacent community into the airport precinct.
The runway was closed off as a fire and rescue team managed to contain, and successfully extinguish the fire.

No flights were affected, but two non-operational aircraft were damaged in the blaze.
The airport says they will continue to monitor the situation overnight.
