JOHANNESBURG - Over 300 undocumented foreign nationals and suspected illegal miners have been arrested.
They were cuffed when Operation Shanela descended on Gauteng over the past five days.
Police say high calibre firearms, including AK-47s, were recovered.

They also seized tools used for illegal mining.
These include gas cylinders, generators and explosives.
A multidisciplinary team descended on parts of the province to crack down on crime.
Police are calling on residents to report any illegal activities.
