MANHATTAN - A multi-storey parking garage in the financial district of lower Manhattan has collapsed.
One person was killed and five others were rushed to hospital.
Aerial footage on social media showed cars piled on top of one another in a jumble of cracked concrete.
New York's Buildings Department says the building collapsed all the way to the cellar floor.
Officials don't suspect any foul play, calling it a structural failure.
While the exterior is still standing, officials fear further collapses are possible.
At least six workers were in the building and everyone has been accounted for.
