JOHANNESBURG - One person has been arrested after over 30 suspected human trafficking victims were rescued in a house in Benoni.
KwaZulu-Natal detectives were investigating a trafficking syndicate.
"Investigations led the police to a house in Benoni and working together with other national police specialised units, the house was tactically penetrated," police said in a statement.
"33 male victims were found cramped in the house and one suspect was arrested.
"The ages of the victims are yet to be confirmed and the suspect will appear in court soon."
