Olifantsvlei drownings | Calls to criminally charge traditional healer

JOHANNESBURG - There are calls for religious leaders to be prosecuted for deaths during ceremonies and rituals.

It follows the deaths of two people during a cleansing in the Klip River in Johannesburg.

An inquest docket has been opened after police recovered their bodies.

Ayaphiwa Ndothi (18) disappeared with a 21-year-old male last week.

It took emergency services and the police’s diving unit six days to find their bodies.

One legal expert says police will have to establish if there was any negligence or foul play.
