JOHANNESBURG - There are nearly 1,000 judgments reserved in courts across the country.

Reports show 184 judgments have been outstanding for at least six months.

The backlog means court orders are handed down long after the hearing is concluded, delaying justice.

Mbekezeli Benjamin from Judges Matter says they are very concerned with the findings of the report.

"Not only has the number of judgments increased, there is a recurring theme in the individual judges who have judgments that are late," he said.
