BLOEMFONTEIN - A key state witness has conceded that he was wrong for stating that the Gupta family were co-signatories on the bank account of their Islandsite Investment company.
It was in this account of a company owned by the Guptas that evidence before court shows R522-million flowed between November 2011 and July 2012.
But a senior financial investigator from the Investigating Directorate concedes he has no evidence to back his assertion that the the Guptas were co-signatories in the bank account of their Islandsite Investment company that’s on trial for fraud and money-laundering in the Free State High court.
The trial continues on Thursday, with state witness Thesele Rankuoatsoane back on the witness stand for further cross-examination.
