JOHANNESBURG - The National Prosecuting Authority is withdrawing charges against all six accused in the Nomzamo tavern shooting incident.
The shooting in Soweto in July last year left the community in shock, after 16 people were killed when gunmen opened fire on tavern patrons.
The NPA says following an analysis of the contents of the dockets, they are of the opinion that there are no prospects of a successful prosecution.
They also say requests for further investigation were not complied with, due to witnesses fearing for their lives, or losing their lives.
