JOHANNESBURG - The Free State High Court deputy judge president has rebuked the Director of Public Prosecutions, for what she calls unethical behaviour and unprecedented attack on the judiciary’s independence.
This follows the Free State Director of Public Prosecutions requesting for a judge from outside the province, to preside over a high-profile state capture related case.

The 255 million rand asbestos tender trial is set to begin in mid-April next year, and involves former Free State Premier Ace Magashule, a former Mangaung mayor, as well as businessman Edwin Sodi.
The state maintains work was never done or was done poorly at a fraction of the cost, and the profits were distributed among the accused.
