PRETORIA - President Cyril Ramaphosa will make the appointment of the Minister of Electricity on a day and time that he decides on.
That is the word from Minister in the Presidency, Mondli Gungubele.
He says the president is well aware of the vacancies that need to be filled in his cabinet.
"You know that the president has acknowledged the need to close the gaps, the president has made an undertaking to appoint a minister of electricity," Gungubele said.
Gungubele also confirmed that South Africa currently has no deputy president.
This comes after Ramaphosa accepted the resignation of David Mabuza on Wednesday.
"Cabinet confirms that deputy president David Mabuza has resigned as a Member of Parliament, ending his term as deputy president.
"Cabinet joins the president in thanking him for his exceptional service to the country."
