JOHANNESBURG - Wits University says it has met some of the demands from the protesting students.
The university has removed private security at all campuses and police are no longer present.
Students have been demonstrating over lack of accommodation and exclusion due to historic debt but the decision to suspend some of the students remains in place.
Wits University spokesperson Shirona Patel said: "Two of the demands have been met. The SAPS was on campus last Friday and they left on the same day, we've met that first demand.
"The second was that we remove all private security from campus, we've done that. The third one which is the suspension we have not met that demand.
"Some students face some serious charges this includes intimidation, disruption of lectures..for this reason we will allow the legal process to take its cause."
