JOHANNESBURG - Eskom's new board chairperson is no stranger to the power utility.
Mpho Makwana has served on the board before and also served as Eskom CEO for about nine months in the past.
Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan announced the new board on Friday.
Gordhan said the new board must address theft and sabotage that is taking place at the power utility.
He says it's important that the full might of the state is applied when dealing with crime at Eskom.
"Part of the responsibilities of the new board is to look into these matters, to ensure that there is discipline and productivity," he said.
