Botswana president praises smooth transition
GABORONE - Botswana's new President Duma Boko took office today and praised his predecessor Mokgweetsi Masisi, for allowing a smooth regime change.
Boko described the transition as a testament to Botswana's mature democracy and an example for the rest of the world.
Masisi’s Botswana Democratic Party had governed since independence in 1966.
