National Shutdown | SAPS says lawlessness will not be tolerated

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Police Service says there will be no shutdown on Monday.

This follows concerns that businesses will be forced to close down as the Economic Freedom Fighters take to the streets to call for an end to rolling blackouts and for the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Natjoints says any form of criminality on the day will not be tolerated.

"We have put measures in place to combat any forms of criminality and there is no national shutdown but we are aware of a planned protest," said SAPS spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
