National shutdown | Court grants interdict against violence

CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa is vowing swift action against any intimidation by protesters on Monday.

But in Cape Town, the city has obtained a High Court interdict to prevent violence or damage to property.

It stops short of prohibiting demonstrations, but makes it clear that any form of intimidation will not be allowed.

During its protest in Cape Town on Monday, the EFF is barred from intimidating or preventing anyone from going to work and damaging any property.

That's some of the conditions set out by Judge Mark Sher in the Western Cape High Court.
