JOHANNESBURG - The South African Medical Association will be challenging the constitutionality of the National Health Insurance Act.
The association is a professional body of both public and private sector medical practitioners.
During a webinar on Thursday evening, SAMA chairperson Dr Mvuyisi Mzukwa said the NHI is not a viable solution to realise universal health coverage for the South African population.
The body repeatedly raised concerns over the bill, before it was signed into law by President Ramaphosa on Wednesday.
