CAPE TOWN - The National Assembly has passed the National Health Insurance Bill.
Essentially it seeks to create a unified and improved health service available for all South Africans.
Health Minister Joe Phaahla says quality healthcare is often limited to people with deep pockets.
This is, therefore, the reason behind the adoption of the National Health Insurance Bill, which will ensure universal health coverage and access for all.
Phaahla says the public healthcare system is under pressure.
