CAPE TOWN - Members of Parliament have rejected the motion for the establishment of an ad hoc committee on the Phala Phala scandal involving president Cyril Ramaphosa.
The motion was brought by the Democratic Alliance.
204 MPs voted against the motion, while 135 voted in favour of the establishment of the ad hoc committee.
Meanwhile, the no-confidence motion against National Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has failed.
The motion was brought by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) after they were removed from Parliament during last month's State of the Nation Address.
