Authorities have already initiated an investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile City officials in Johannesburg Gauteng, have been out in the street inspecting spaza shops for compliance.

This follows President Cyril Ramaphosa’s call for spaza shop owners to register their businesses within 21 days.

The President also announced that tough measures will be implemented to prevent the misuse of hazardous chemicals.

A few shops in the area have already been shut down.

The MMC of Development Planning, Eunice Mgcina, is calling on the community to make sure they remain shut.
