CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police have made more arrests following last week's discovery of an arms cache in Malmesbury.
And they are not ruling out more.
A 62-year-old man was arrested in Tierfontein following a tip-off that led officers to more than 40 firearms, over 40,000 bullets and gunpowder that had been locked inside a warehouse.
Police also seized two cannons.
Casting a wider net, police managed to make more arrests in the case.
The Malmesbury Crime Prevention Unit cuffed four men - aged between 19 and 40 – on a charge of possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the Saamstaan and Ilingelethu areas on Sunday.
Police are confident of even more arrests as their investigation unfolds.
