Mkhwebane impeachment | Madonsela not needed at inquiry

CAPE TOWN - A disappointing day for those hoping to hear testimony by former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

She was subpoenaed to testify before the Section 194 Inquiry into the fitness of her replacement Busisiwe Mkhwebane to hold office.

But Madonsela argued her presence may not be relevant.

And on Wednesday the committee agreed.

Instead, her written statement will be accepted as evidence.
